The committee of Coney Hall FC is pleased to confirm that they have accepted a request from Barry Perkins to become Chairman.

Barry has been at the club for five years and has completed roles as a Manager, Coach and Committee member as well as being a strong supporter of both junior and senior football.

A ‘Club Members Meeting’ will be held on Sunday 27th September 2009 at the clubhouse for 2.00pm prompt.  Any objections to this decision must be issued to the club committee in writing by 15th September 2009.

Barry has added the following statement;

“I have thought long and hard over the summer regarding my future contribution to the club. Although I continue to coach, I am passionate to install ‘direction and discipline’ to the club and its members. For many months those that have known me have continually asked me to step forward into this role. I am pleased that Kevin Imber has agreed to become Vice Chairman and continue his work with the seniors in a non-committee role. I can also confirm that with immediate effect the placement of Joe Farrugia as Vice President. An Organisation Chart will be displayed in the clubhouse in the next few weeks.

I have proposed a plan to the committee and only with their help and that of the membership will it come to fruition. There will be change for the benefit of the club and its members and I now ask that everyone attends the clubhouse on the 27th September and shows a vote of confidence. I will present a ten minute presentation and identify what I believe WE need to do.

I thank the committee for their hard work over the last year and look forward to their continued support.”

The committee also request that members support Barry in this role and attend the ‘Club Members Meeting’. This will be one of the first games of the junior season and we hope all teams can return after their fixtures. If there are no objections, Barry would like to have a photo taken with as many junior players in their teams kit on the senior pitch at 2.15pm. A BBQ will be cooking from 1.00pm so please bring your friends and family along.
